Loosely based on the collective legends surrounding HouYi, Chang'e, and YuTu the rabbit, HouYi Shot the Suns is a game designed for the 2024 ByteOff IV development competition. 

This game was developed in just a couple of weeks, and it has numerous references to the old Chinese legends, which are normally told around the Moon Festival harvest festival in September. 

HouYi Shot the Suns was never formally released on cartridge; however, about twenty demo cartridges were produced and then distributed to fans after the ByteOff IV competition.
