ITG.Soft is always looking to team up with other developers to publish new, exciting games! You maintain the rights to your game, IP and characters, your game gets exposure, and we get more fun games to play. It’s a win-win situation for everyone, and we’ll help everyone through the process, no matter how inexperienced you are with getting your game out there.
Below you can see some common questions we receive, as well as the answers. If you would like to publish with us, please contact us directly and we can help get you setup.
Founded by gamers and collectors, we know the Famicom and Famiclone market better than most. We provide options in terms of box and shell design and can help get your game marketed in the best manner possible across distinctly different markets in the Famicomsphere. We will work with you to promote and market your game in regions as far off as South America, Central and Eastern Europe, and Asia, as well as in North America.
It's absolutely FREE! Just get in touch, and we'll get you set up. From there, we can help you sell your game on the sites of our partners and affiliates, as well as at culture markets. It's fairly hands off, and all you need to do is wait for your money to arrive.
Sure! Tell us how many physical copies of your game you want, and we will provide you with a quote for production. After you receive your games, you can sell them wherever and however you want.
We have no MOQ. If you want to order one or five copies of your game to sell or give out to friends as gifts, that's fine. If you want to order 200 copies, or even 1000 or whatever, we are willing and ready to assist.
We do not outsource production of our games, nor do we distribute game ROM files to outside sources. Unlike some other publishers, you never have to worry about your game ending up for sale as a bootleg on AliExpress.
ITG.Soft offers multiple box designs, cartridge shell styles and colors, manual designs, etc. As Famicom and Famiclone experts, we can easily discuss with you the vibe each option has, so that the cartridges you receive are best suited for the vibe or mood of your game.
One of the things that the ITG.Soft team has always loved about Famicom games is the wide array of pack-ins. Some options, such as a flier or a poster, are available free of charge. We are also eager to include other goodies to be packaged with your game, though some of these items may require special parts and thus an additional fee. We will do our best to work with you to produce the game that you want!
At the moment, we can publish your game on NES format; however, we are currently only doing loose cartridge / cartridge + manual releases for the NES. This may change in the future.
The staff at ITG.Soft is glad to assist! We can help take your ideas and turn them into a reality. We also have no issue with helping you to design a manual or box design for your homebrew game.
No. Shipping from Taiwan to anywhere in the world is incredibly cheap. For reference, we can send one or two games registered mail to almost anywhere in the world for around $6-8. Better yet, parcels will generally arrive in about two to two-and-a-half weeks. As a result, we are incredibly competitive.
This is a good question, and one that we have received heat from in the past. A lot of the other major homebrew / indie publishers shrink wrap their games, so why doesn’t ITG-Soft? Is there a reason that we are avoiding such a professional touch when manufacturing games?
The resounding answer is yes, we purposely don’t shrink wrap the games we release for several reasons. The most obvious reason is a minor, technical reason – aside from a few rare instances, Famicom and Famiclone games were generally not shrink wrapped at a company level. Thus shrink wrapping the games we are selling create an unauthentic feeling for our customers.
Furthermore, we have noticed some negative aspects that occur due to games being shrink wrapped.
1. Customers are less likely to actually play the games.
Unfortunately, we live in a world where investment is a big part of gaming. As such, some are reluctant to open up their gaming purchases, instead opting to keep everything sealed and mint. We experienced this situation personally with our two Hungry Ghost Night games – attempting to take a play from Guns N’ Roses with their Use Your Illusion albums, we released two different Hungry Ghost Night games the same day. No one realized it though, and despite having totally different stages, everyone thought the two games were the same, aside from a different protagonist. Why? It was the only game we sealed, and a large portion of collectors didn’t want to open the game up for fear of it losing value.
2. Physical damage
Leaving the shrink wrap on the game boxes sometimes damages the boxes over the long term. As homebrew / indie enthusiasts ourselves, we personally own a lot of games that have been shrinked, and by now some of the boxes are warping due to the wrap. So do we open the games or slit the shrink wrap to stop the damage to the box? It’s a tough decision that plays on the minds of collectors and gamers. Why place people in this situation, especially when Famicom games weren’t even shrink wrapped to begin with? It’s insanity, and we’d rather have people play the amazing games that we develop / publish!
